What it is

Clomp is a browser platformer. You run and jump with Tapi, a young, calm tapir, to the mud pool that ends every level. Its trick is the stomp: an enemy you land on is squashed into a pancake that lasts a few seconds, works as a trampoline and, for some enemies, goes back where it was. Some gaps can only be crossed by stomping a Buzzer in mid-air.

Every level hides three orchids, and the lanterns you light keep your place: if you fall or get hit, you respawn at the last lantern, with no lives. A shield leaf absorbs one hit. The Helmet takes two stomps and the Big Roly, the boss of each world, is beaten by stomping.

With a finger or the mouse

With a finger or the mouse: ◀ and ▶ on the left and the big button, which jumps, on the right (in portrait, both at the bottom); slide from one to the other without lifting your finger and hold the jump to go higher. With the mouse, turn on “On-screen controls” in the pause menu.

With the keyboard

With the keyboard: arrow keys or A and D to run; Space, up arrow, W, Z or K to jump (holding it gives more height). Escape or P pauses the game.

Levels and stars

There are three worlds of six levels (five regular ones and a boss): Jungle, Mangrove and Peaks. Each level gives one to three stars: reaching the pool, collecting all three orchids and not respawning. In the boss level: beating it, not respawning and doing it in the set time. One star opens the next level. Your progress is saved on your device.

Difficulty

Each level you clear opens on Hard, with a clock, and then on Extreme, with a shorter clock and where one hit ends the attempt. Each difficulty keeps its own stars.
