What it is
Chaos is a control game for the browser. You control a double pendulum: two jointed arms that sway without ever repeating the same path. Your goal is to put the tip through the rings that appear on screen before they fade out, and a trail shows where the tip has been.
One tap locks the lower arm and the pendulum moves as a single body; another tap releases it and the pendulum swings loose again. Learning when to lock and when to let go is the whole game. Every ring you pass is one point. Every ring that fades before you pass it costs one of your three lives, and every ten rings you win a life back, up to three. With no lives left, the run ends. As your score grows, rings come closer together, get smaller and last for less time.
With a finger or the mouse
With a finger or the mouse: tap to lock the lower arm and tap again to release it. The first touch starts the run.
With the keyboard
With the keyboard: the space bar locks and releases. Escape or the P key pauses the game.
Daily challenge
Pick “Daily challenge” on the start screen or after a run. On that day everyone gets the same rings, in the same order, and your best score for today is saved separately on your own device. Today’s challenge is the same for everyone on each difficulty, and each one keeps its own best score.
Difficulty
You can play Normal, Hard or Extreme. On the last two the rings appear more often, are smaller and last less. Each keeps its own best score.
