Arena

What it is

Arena is a sand puzzle for the browser. A square container holds colored grains that always fall down your screen, and its edges have cups, each one a color. Your job is to turn the container so the sand of each color ends up in its own cup.

Each turn is a quarter turn, to the right or to the left. Every level has a time limit and an amount of sand you must deliver; if time runs out or too much sand is lost, the run ends. Clearing a level earns points, with a bonus for the time you have left and for not mixing colors. Levels are built from a known solution, so they can always be cleared, and they get more complex as you go.

With a finger or the mouse

With a finger or the mouse: tap the right half of the screen to turn clockwise and the left half to turn counterclockwise, or use the turn buttons. The first touch starts the run.

With the keyboard

With the keyboard: the left and right arrow keys, or the A and D keys, turn the container. Escape or the P key pauses the game.

Daily challenge

Pick “Daily challenge” on the start screen or after a run. On that day everyone plays the same levels, in the same order, and your best score for today is saved separately on your own device. Today’s challenge is the same for everyone on each difficulty, and each one keeps its own best score.

Difficulty

You can play Normal, Hard or Extreme. On the last two the mazes are bigger and there is less time to spare. Each keeps its own best score.
