What it is
Dam Patrol is a reflex game for the browser. Plug, a beaver in a hard hat, patrols a dam with seven posts. Every so often a leak opens at one of them, and the water that seeps through raises the level above the village below.
Small leaks are patched quickly and large ones take twice as long. If you leave a small one open for too long, it turns into a large one, so it can pay to go first to the one about to grow. With every leak closed, the water slowly goes down. If it reaches the top, the village floods and the run ends. Patching a leak earns points, more if it is a large one, and chaining another right after adds an extra point. Over time leaks open more often and more can be open at once.
With a finger or the mouse
With a finger or the mouse: tap a spot on the dam and Plug runs there. If it reaches a leak, it patches it. Tapping another spot while it runs changes its destination. The first tap starts the run.
With the keyboard
With the keyboard: the left and right arrow keys, or the A and D keys, move Plug; when it stops over a leak, it patches it. Escape or the P key pauses the game.
Daily challenge
Pick “Daily challenge” on the start screen or after a run. On that day everyone gets the same schedule of leaks, and your best score for today is saved separately on your own device. Today’s challenge is the same for everyone on each difficulty, and each one keeps its own best score.
Difficulty
You can play Normal, Hard or Extreme. On the last two leaks open more often, more of them start large and more can be open at once. Each keeps its own best score.
